Write lyrics for your rap track

Your own lyrics give a track its personality. This guide covers how to lay out a rap song, write a hook that sticks, keep your bars a comfortable length and prepare the words so the AI rap generator can follow your structure.

Give the song a shape

Most rap songs alternate verses and a hook. Verses carry the story and the detail; the hook repeats the central idea so the listener has something to come back to. Label each part so the structure is clear.

[Verse]
First key in the door, room still smelling like paint
Every doubt in my head getting quieter, it ain’t

[Hook]
City lights on the dash, I ain’t looking back
City lights on the dash, yeah, I paid for that

Write the hook first

A hook is usually short, simple and repeatable. Try writing it before the verses: once you know the line the whole song points to, every verse has a target.

  • Keep it to two or four short lines.
  • Repeat a key phrase so it is easy to remember.
  • Say the main idea plainly; save the clever wordplay for the verses.

Build verses with detail

Good verses show instead of tell. Replace general statements with specific images: the place, the object, the exact thing someone said. Each verse can move the story forward one step.

A simple plan for two verses: the first sets the scene and the problem, the second shows what changed.

Read your lines aloud

Rap lives in rhythm. Read each bar out loud and listen for lines that feel much longer or shorter than the ones around them. Trim filler words, split long lines and move the strongest word to the end of the line where the rhyme lands.

Internal rhymes and repeated sounds help a line flow, but clarity comes first. The generated delivery may still vary from the rhythm you hear in your head.

Prepare the lyrics for the generator

Switch the generator to My lyrics, add a title and paste your verses and hook with their section labels. Then choose a style, a mood and an energy level that support the words. Tick Instrumental only if you want a beat to write over instead of vocals.

You can switch between the idea and lyrics forms while keeping your draft in the same browser.

Keep a copy and use only your own words

Use Export draft to save a text copy. Finished tracks appear under Your tracks and in the site player; audio links expire, so download the takes you want to keep.

Use only lyrics you wrote or have permission to use, and check the terms that apply before you publish a track or use it commercially.
